Me and Marcy are probably about an hour from Lancaster depending where exactly but we grab coal not far from jws's place, and try and make the PABA meetings when we can . Always cool meetin people from the forum.
You could either make a bick/ stake anvil and mount it on a stump or you can drift it all the way open but it's more critical to have a good centered hole to drift it, however you can work the corners with the drift in the hole then drive it all the way through for final sizing.
Hmm.... I drift mine about half way then use the horn to finish it , if the hole isn't centered exactly I can work the high spots to keep it even then work it back round at the end.
Marcy's step dad owns a bussiness that does house clean outs , he has found 3 fishers so far for the taking. An 1897 120# , a 40# and the 1860's 80# that I received for my bday.
