  1. quench with water or smother, they're the options. i would do this... you could scoop into a metal bucket with water(watch the blow back), leave to dry on a piece of mesh, clean the forge and reload the forge with new charcoal.
  2. nice scrap pile, nice forge!.. hes right about the easy lighting,.. although baffle or cover would annoy me,,,i keep a water spray near the forge(2 litre milk bottle full of water with a nail hole for flame squirting).

  12. i meant it, very nice, i got a small forum and from setting it up to a bit of maint, then to this scale of transfer? lodda werk... this forum looks more than capable to handle all the other could plus more id say, just be time and server space and speed before evrything and more is up. at a guess. and after actually reading more.....less you helped set it up or contributed financialy, whine in silence, this like repeaters are put up by people for nicks and ask for nought, so a group can chat, brag, dribble, poke fun at the swede,...lol.... and have a good time? fantastic!! however it looks. and ummm....wheres the old one.....lol ... ill have the hand me downs how much for the old pgm?.
  13. i agree...watch your scale, on the anvil, keep the anvil clear or tap along the anvil with your project leaving a trail of scale but none under your work. i find it helps me when doing smaller work where heat is lost while you brush before hammering.
  14. can i have the old forum.....lol and what else ya chuckin out?
  15. wrong spot or not....4.5 hrs to go it was a great year... merry Xmas for those that have it...and merry whatever the rest have... regards mike and family....
  16. the bolt tongs look good to me....only gotta work, then work on consistancy and like forgemaster says the gap between the reins. not that i can talk, i hate makin tongs....lol and mite, you were meant to weld on the rein extensions at home.
  17. i, like unkle spike have a grinder for each type of wheel. the cheap grinders will only do a little job for a while so put them to task equal to their quality. for serious grinding cutting and brushing, i use the dewalt and makita. pay good money and get spare brushes at the same time, and you have a good tool. the $20 ones smoke and burst into flames (quite litteraly) and i might add.....the same for disks and sanding backs for grinders..i used some chinese no name no qual ones and they shatter under duress, cheap stuff is good for your toenails and heels, but when you start on metal be very aware of your safety gear and exploding disks!!!!
  18. probly best you not suffer any stress, and send them to me:o
