well it looks very interesting and i can hear and see the ems on there way for some one trying this in there kitchen

well its like this once you have one and no how to use it and have the tooling for it you can make many things with it an can't live with out it an old machinest said to me years ago its the only machine that can reproduce its self

well my favorite was my atlas 618 lathe or my logan 700 lathe now i would say my grizzly g1007 mill but in this great economy its what ever makes me money most the time

well for the switch i would go to a eletrical supply house and pick one up there that its rated for your motor as for the piping lay out you have suction line from the tank to the pump then the presure line out to the valve then outlet lines to the ram(they should be marked on the valve ) then a return line to the tank as for the postion of the valve lever i like my self to have the down stroke of the ram so you have to lift the valve handle up that way if you slip or fall on the handle the press will go up but thats my 2 cents and i would put quick disconects on the power lines so i could power other equitment in the future with the same pump

a Johanson drill press followed me home with a vice and a pieace of 3" round stock the press was 100 vise 40 and the round 10 good deal for me getting it home in the basement was the hard part

auto repair shops usally have some steel thats worth picking up if it a big shop the usally have a junk pile out back or a junk car they fill up with tierods old springs and so on keep an eye out for guys driving around on garbage day or night before picking up metal you may be able to get some thing out of them around here they get paid about 4-5 dollars a hundred pounds

i use a brake drum off a semi truck or trailer weld a pipe to it and some steel plates and when i need to move it just rollit on its side

i worked at place that had a punch press about that size years ago that i made swages for that worked great for flatting the ends on 1/4 inch cold rolled supports for old military jeep tops but it was safe as long as you ajusted the stroke so it didn't bottom out and bind witch after i left there the owner did and broke the press in half also worked for an oil pan company that hade a smaller one that they made a manual press like the video we welded the dogs so there was no play in it

i would try to get the kick arm off and stick it in a trash can an get alot of vingar and soak it also i would have wheeled and dealed for the model a axle that was there inthe pile

i think there was an old blacksmith that made that hardy just so years later some one would be scratching there head whats that for

i use my deepcut portaband saw mostly and my 71/4 cold saw from harborfreight i finelyneed to replace the blade after a year so it was worththe money in my opionon but then again every one has one to

nice lathe there nakedanvil but you must have forgot the first leason in useing the lathe you never leave the key in the chuck that would have got me detention back in high school

i like it its biggggg but i would really like to know what ever happen to the 1600 pound fisher anvil that was made for the worlds fair in the late 1800s

i used a air tank drain valve from a tractor trailer tank has ring you put a cable or rope on and just give it a pull

well i have to pick my brain havent had a gokart in 30 years the spindles i had on mine back then were just hot rolled stock i woud take the spindle out of the wheel and heat it with the torch and hammer it back in to shape i bent mine several times and straightend them back you could do a heat treat on them but i never did as for your belt drive you should check with the maker of the drive system and see if the adjustment are corect you may have a bad spring in there thats not giving enough presere on the belt it shouldn't slip if it is theres the reason its burning the belt up

i use to scrap alot of it here on the shore as they used alot of it for boat hardware years ago alot of the fuel tanks were monel as for forgeing never tryed i know its strong they use to make deep sea monel fishing wire out of it good luck with it and if you forge something make shore to show us

welcome d sounds like you step in a lot of poo but i have had my share to my father was apart time farier so i got his anvil and tools he had when he moved i have had many tools givin to me also it pays to know alot of people with this hob orgtwister

i seen some thing like this in and old mechanic shop i worked in 20 years ago and the place had been there for 60 years then so maybe some type of pin polisher an old timer said years ago they would rebulid the front axle with over size bushings and turn the pins down but it makes a good conversation pieace any way let us know if you find out what it is

seems like a lot of money to me for a leg vise to me as i wouldn't pay much for the anvil or i would give him scrap metal price and here thats around 3.50 a hundred pounds

i just go to tractor supply and buy the green bite blocks and toss them around my out bulidings
