  2. now im not sure of this but they put the inline4 in a lot of reafer units and some one told me that the motors can interchange
  3. thats interesting i drove a tow truck for 10 years and got a AAA call for a disableld toyota truck they said it ws making noise when driving down the road as i'm winching it up on the flat bed i looked under neath it there was a deer carcuse wraped around the drive shaft wasn't much left i pulled it outand the truck drove away she said she never ran it over so i guess she was stoped and the deer thought it would be a good place to craw up into and hide
  4. its probably cheaper if you but 4x8 sheets and cut them were im at its cheaper that way and by me they will usally make the first cut free so when i make things with sheet steel i have them cut to size
  5. if you tank is plain steel i would use a magnetic block heater for a diesel engine the one i have gets hot enough you cant touch it and you could pre heat your anvil with it to
  6. this guy sells it on ebay HIGH-TEMP REFRACTORY STORE he has different ratings and thicknesses
  7. they still are selling the lister they sell the small ones on ebay alll the time i would find any way to get if it was me like said here before get a tow truck operator to move it it should be skid mounted as some type of frame you could get several piaces of pipe and roll it around on them you will be surprized how easy heavy objects will move once you get the pipe under them you just keep moving them back to the front as they come out the back
  8. if you have a muffler shop around that does custom work they may have 3 or 4 inch pipe you could get a foot or two you cutit up and either weld a tee if you have welder or could do the cutting and fitting and get the muffler shop to weld it for ya
  9. that looks like the arm that slides out of a the old car lifts now i gota go by buy old buddys shop were they took out the old lifts and i think hes scraping them and they had arms that look like that and see if i can grab them
  10. i don't have a propane forge but on the crucible furnace is propane and we would put it in a tank of water to stop the frezzing but the best is to upgrade to a bigger tank and here i'm told that if you get the hundred pound tanks delivered its cheaper then filling the barbaque tanks
  11. as long as the blower workes and it not rusted out and the price is resonable i would buy it
  12. theres a few unanswered questions do you have a welder and do you know how to weld then theres what type of fire pot you looking to make the one im using now is made from the bottom of a propane tank you can use a brake drum i'm in the procese of makeing a bigger forge i'm using the top of a oxygen bottle got the idea from the fithwheel forge plane on here and its some thing i was going to scrap as its out dated by years so really in my opion is what ever you like is what to make
  13. i have a honda push mower with mulching blade that his summer found a 3/8 grade 70chain it put a cuts in the chain about 1/8 deep and it bearly left a mark on the blade it did stall it but its still cutting grass i think i'll save them blades for some thing when i change them
  14. what do you want to know about the 5.9?i had one for years as my 6 of my buddys also pm me maybe i could know some thing for you
  15. looks like a aso to me it looks just like the 15 pound harbor freight aso i bought my cousin to beat on i seen one of theses on ebay i think he said he got it in a buy out of a hardware store in my opion its not worth it by the time you pay for the travel exspences and if it is aso you just have a pieace of junk
  16. you could just buy them also mcmaster carr has them i got the last ones i had from a local place that has almost every thing you could need
  17. cbrann i looked up the wire at tractor supply and they are saying its low carbon and zinc plated as for it being a High Tension wire i know tenision wire used on chain link fence is real soft can cut it with wire cuters ant its at least 1/8 inch and it says tension on it so i guess that doesn't make it high carbon though there is a lot of highcarbon junk metal out there chains be the most i know of
  18. looks great as thick as that fire pot is it should last a long time and those welds aren't that bad i have seen a heck of a lot worse and they were going down the road
  19. put it on ebay some one will buy it just make sure you put vintage blacksmith on it then you can ask three times what you think its worth sorry just had say that about ebay
  20. i have seen a few grinder sander with the 2x36 belts and my self have had little luck finding a sorce for them thats resonable i find a lot of 48" and 72"so i have decided to make one instead of buying
  21. well im not sure how the machine does it if i need to twist say square tube i would packit full of fine sand and drive a plug in it and twist it . the machine i would guess clamps the tube as it turns when you twist any tube it trys to pull back making it shorter and then there for colapseing so if you limit the amount of pull back pressure then that may work these machines may just pull the tube through a mandrel and die in a twisting motion there for making a twist in it and the mandrel stoping the colapse
  22. theres lots of different types of fire pots if you search here theres a 55 drum forge that uses a brake drum for the fire pot if using a brake drum it thick cast iron i would weld up the bolt holes or but plain steel bolts through the holes to plug them and use a pluming t welded or use a mounting flange and bolt it to the bottom i wouldn't use sand or clay if using a brake drum thats my opionon if the drum burns through it would take some time i would just get another one
