  1. Smithc03...If you ever find a need to put yourself up for adoption....you may add me to the list of perspective candidates. Nice work there and I'm sure your Dad will pleased. Life is Good Dave
  2. Ha, convert that to todays dollars....then multiply by ?.....If I owned that little jewel, I'd have to use a ladder to get into bed. Dave
  3. Well Thomas was about spot on again......Thanks, I found it in the S&R Spring 1915 catalogue #130v......"Vise, Anvil, Forge with Blower and Drill Attachments All in One"....$9 . I can't seem to copy the Pic, but .......Life is Good Dave
  4. I have made several sets of tongs from flee market finds of horse "hoof nippers". 7/8 of the work is done. And for a buck or 2 I keep a good supply of them on hand. Life is Good Dave
  5. I just put about an hour into this....my google foo is tired for now........no luck yet Dave
  6. Thanks Thomas, one of the guys thought it may be a Sears. I'll look through the old S&R when time allows ... Steve, it must be a slow grower...owner said it looked like that when he parked it 20 years ago. I'm not sure if you noticed or could tell, but there is also a drill incorporated in the front jaw. The spindle is above the screw. The handle for the drill is broken off and was lost when hauled home from the auction. He said it was left on the bumper of the truck......What's his name...on the right in the bottom pic has his thumb and finger on the drive gear and crank casting for the drill. Maybe you can tell or already knew, but the back jaw with the anvil and horn is the moveable jaw. One more thing that caught some interest was the bolt going into the teardrop opening in the base to provide for a clamp or something. We messed with it for a while and got the mouse nest out of the blower, added some oil here and there, and it all works...We wanted to fire it up, but thought best not ...until the cast iron pan was clayed. It was already broken and repaired...just a neat ole' tool Life Is Good Dave
  7. Saw this at our B/S meeting today. All we could find was casting numbers. Kinda neat old tool. Dave
  8. If you happen to watch the News tonight.......we're all over it... Dave
  9. Yes Thomas, it is June 3-5 this year, in Tipton, In. It's not as big as Quad State of course, but still a very good show. Lots to see, buy and learn....... Dave
  10. Hey Nate08, good to see ya.....Your in a good location down there. The IBA satellite group in Elnora is a great group of guys. If you haven't hooked up with them, please do so. If you need contact info, I'll be glad to get it for you. I'm sure you already know, but the coal from Oden Farm store is the go to supplier for many in the Hoosier state. Looks like you are pretty well set with the kit I saw in the anvil ID tread. I worked in Washington one summer a couple of years before I retired. It was a fairly large sewer job out by the treatment plant. Stayed in Montgomery at the Gastoff. ( best food in the state, in my opinion) Enjoy the ride...you're in good company here. Life is Good Dave
  11. 3/8" egg shape = 4 3/4" bore with 4" x4 3/4" bushing.....unless you need a welding job Dave

  17. SReynolds, Definitely an A. The steering shaft is almost parallel to the hood. Also a late 37' or 38' due to the shutter rod on the side of the hood. Early Unstyleds had radiator curtains...... Dave
  18. Well shoot.......I started with washing soda years ago...was told not to use baking soda.....washing soba worked so well I never saw the need to change or research a substitute..... Thanks for the lesson Dave
  19. Nice job Matt......How are you cutting them? I may have to try that. Thanks......although I will play with the cut ratios abit, to get closer to a "t"rather than a "+"....just my preference carry on Dave
  20. Hey Frosty.....don't you mean "washing soda" and a battery charger? Dave
