Just wondering.

If you said other, please elaborate.

I agree with Joseph about multiple fuels.

Propane in the shop and coal when demonstrating.

Sorry guys, you are right I should have had multiple choice on it.

Do any of you know how to modify the poll specifications?

Caleb Ramsby

I'd love for someone to elaborate on their liquid fuel setup (if anyone on here uses one) I've seen lionel's design, and am keenly interested

Caleb buddy, these polls have been done and the results can be found under the "poll results" catagory.

Welcome aboard.

Frosty,

I was sure that they had, just looked them up and found one from 2005 and another from 2007. It will be interesting to see if the fuels used has changed, considering the wildly fluctuating cost variences between(in order of derangement) solid, liquid and gas fuels.

I must say that I am VERY impressed with how far this web site has gone. I remember when it was used mainly as a picture how to reserve for anvilfire. . . more or less, I remember at the time being rather confused as to what affiliation it had to whom or what. Got out of the blacksmithing thang for a few years to concentrate on steam vehicle design(motorcycle, car, boat etc., that's another story all together). To see it thriving as it is now is GREAT!

i use coal and charcoal..i would like to make a gas forge soon..

I guess that's fair enough.

Propane is my primary fuel with coal as an occasional fuel at home.

In the field I use charcoal from the camp fire in a forge as advanced as necessary to do what I want or need to.

been a long time since ive had a chance to get online, i use coal when working at my uncles and propane at home...neighbors didnt care much for the smoke, something about the environment.

The confusion come from IForgeIron being willing to support other sites and the blacksmithing community. When other sites have gone off line or had problems, we have offered the IForgeIron site and services for the other sites to use until they recover.

IForgeIron has never been a part of any other site. We are good citizens of the blacksmithing community, and offer to help when we can.

I'm the 'other' guy. My gasifier burns wood, corn, acorns, newspaper, and a few things I haven't tried yet, I'm sure. :D

Good Luck!

i end up useing a few different fuels .. main use is coke (less smoke) coal charcoal propane, natural gas at the puyallup fair , and ive been looking at the induction forges... the only problem i see with them is they could work you into the ground!! 30 seconds to yellow heat for a 1/2 in bar ! ive even used wood (dosnt really work till its charcoal) when i was running low on coke ...

Propane but getting together a Coal forge...Hope the neighbors are ok with it?! ;)
