Seeing how I was given the moniker "Vise Whisperer" for some awesome vise finds a while ago, I figured I'd at least provide some ongoing evidence of the bestowed title.

Went to an auction to look at an anvil, it ended up going too high for me but I did see something else that had my interest.

A 7" Iron City post vise, darn near like new, everything is there (spring, mounting parts, tapered keys) and with the stand. Threads look perfect and the jaws look almost unused. I thought it would've been quite silly to pass this up for $200.  She is a beefy girl.

That's a great find.  Those jaws are definitely robust.  How much does it weigh?

Didn't weigh it yet. I should do that, maybe sometime in the next week.

She's a beauty. I scored a 6" Iron City recently, but that one is a beast. Mine is just under a 100 lbs.

Just weighed it,  actually it is a 7.25" jaw.  It weighs just a tick over 150#  on my 300# scale.

....Not gonna float away, that's for sure.

My friend bought a similar post vise at a garage sale years ago for $25. I told him if he didn't buy it, I was    Looking it over , it was stamped 125# on the side. I still may end up with it.......

An interest in vise. That is just such a juicy straight line I can barely contain myself.
