Donna Douglas has passed away.  PRIDE, LA (WAFB) -

Family members say Donna Douglas passed away Thursday morning at the age of 81, at her home in Zachary, LA, with family members by her side.  Douglas was an actress, best known for her role as Elly May Clampett, the only daughter of Jed Clampett, in the CBS television series The Beverly Hillbillies. What you may not know is Donna was also a hobbist blacksmith, a past "Miss Baton Rouge" and was named "Miss New Orleans" in 1957.

Sorry to hear Donna's anvil is silent today. May she settle into the great Blacksmith Shop in the sky and continue her great work. RIP Donna. Darn good TV show watched it every week and would now if my 400 channel dish would show it

Beverly Hillbillies was one of my favorite shows growing up.  And more important, it introduced me to Bluegrass Music and Earl Scruggs on the banjo.

Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs are from my Home Town B) Yes it is very true folks . and I spent many a day watching the Beverly Hillbillies as a young lad .
