brian.pierson
John B, This is great! I think Glenn could sticky this at the top of the tool section. It is a great reference for old and new. Especially for both sides of the pond. Thanks Brian Pierson

Altusjg
This is a great post. Being new to the art of blacksmithing i really had no clue as to what half the tools mentions in other forum were used for. This is a big help in identifying some general tools and there uses. Thanks!!

Guest Johnnie
John, Great posting and very informative, thank you! Did you make most of these tools yourself? John B
John, Great posting and very informative, thank you! Did you make most of these tools yourself? Just in the throws of making mine and this was very inspiring! Thanks again John Some I made others are proprietory items, mostly made or acquired as and when needed. Secialist tools I will make, but if I can find one I need cheaper than what it costs me in time and materials to make, then I will happily purchase what is required.
