Just curious about what the (scissor tool?) was used for?Reads Model-A Ford,K-D MFG.CO. MADE LANCASTER PA.IN USA.I threw in the pics of the wrench because they were bought together.Anyone know??Age?? B)
I have put two round bushings in that just fit(O.D.of screw) over screw and thick enough to fit inside of moving jaw that meets screwbox.A good fix for now.Would not mind seeing pics Fosterob. Thanks guys. B)
Anyone know where u can get new bushings? Or do u have to machine one?It has threads inside it,I guess another bushing is threaded into it.It fits over the screw on the side of the movable jaw. B)
By the looks of the thick heel, small horn, and shape of feet, looks like a mousehole to me.Could be wrong though. Not too old though, has pritchel hole.Still old by all means. B)
Thanks Phil.Cant find any markings on post vise exept there are a series of 3 punch marks on certain parts.Any info on make or ages of both would be great.
Attended my very first auction yesterday.Left there pretty happy, auhhh LUCKY!Only reason I went was for the post vise(5"jaw).I got it for......brace yourself...$11.00!No I did not leave out a #1!!The other was listed as a "plow vise"(4"jaw).It was locked up but some PB Blaster & sweat took care of that.Loose as a goose now.Got it for $4.00. After I found the weather climates I wanted the most I would definatley try to be close to a good source of coal.Scrap yards are nearly everywhere but steele suppliers aren't.If I planned my living on blacksmithing I wouldn't want to be too close to alot of artist blacksmiths either.Wish I had the option of moving you have.Good Luck!
