  1. Thomas, that’s a gift that’s hard to beat. Happy holidays and I wish I was close enough to come by and visit
  2. I received two books I have been wanting for several years and a nice custom made touchmark to replace my homemade one, that is getting worn out and not doing a good job. I have to give thanks to IFI member Stampman, and his crew, on the help they provided me with ordering my touchmark. I had looked on his website, but I had a few questions so I sent him a PM one morning. Less than an hour later a very nice lady called and we discussed what I wanted and I sent her a picture of my homemade one. in less than 4 hours after sending my PM to Stampman I had approved the proof of my stamp and was waiting for it's shipment, which was intercepted by my wife and delivered Sunday. If you are considering ordering a touchmark I recommend contacting Stampman.
  3. And you've been trying to figure out why the police come to watch you forge?
  4. Billy, is that-30f actual temperature or windchill? We’re supposed to get to 21 tonight, high of 32 and 17 tomorrow night, which is very unusual for us.
  5. Everyone's posting some great looking projects. My favorite part of the day is opening this post to see the new items and get some new ideas. Mothman and Jobtiel1, thanks. That was the first time for me to use a kiridashi and I was impressed with how well it cuts and the comfort when using it. I've been using a knife that resembles the blade on a straight razor to cut my leather but, I will be using a kiridashi from now on because it was much easier and more accurate.
  6. Frosty, That sounds like one of those calzones they sell. I always thought they were for people too lazy to fold their own, plus gives the pizza joint a chance to use half the ingredients at twice the price of a pizza
  7. Nice bracelet Vulpine. Wishing everyone a happy holiday season, stay safe and warm. I've been on a job the last couple of weeks and away from the forge, was able to fire it up this weekend and finished the last 5 tomahawks, that were on order, and made a kiridashi for my son in law, that has started woodworking. My first knife shaped object, I used it to cut out the leather sheath and I was very impressed with the way it performed. I will be making another on for my use.
  8. Alexandre, I had the same thought as Frosty and Shaina when I looked at the first picture. Beautiful work as always.
  9. My youngest daughter would see a feral cat walking in the cattle pasture behind the house and go pick it up and pet it, never got bit or scratched. When she moved to Nashville for college the first cold morning she heard a noise under her car hood when she started it and found a young feral cat in the engine compartment, fished it out, dropped it off at a veterinarian on her way to the clinic to get herself fixed up, and seven years later the cats still sleeping in the bed with her and doing good
  10. Alexandr, I saw pictures of the chandelier , while you were working on it, in some of your previous pictures and was trying to determine how it would be used, I knew you had a great idea, but I didn’t know where it was going to be installed. You continue to impress me with every picture of your work and how you can design something for a specific job
  11. Looks like you and Max had a great time Billy. I have a big smile on my face looking at the pictures
  12. My local paper had a short article this morning, including an interview with a 101 yr old survivor from the Arizona, that talked about today’s ceremony and how few of the survivors would be able to attend this year
  13. Thanks for the continued updates, please let Thomas and family know that we are continuing to pray for him and support for his family during this troubling time
  14. Alexandr, that’s a nice looking meal
  15. Well said Thom, Thomas’s posts have always given me the courage to light my forge and correct my mistakes, with the wisdom he supplied or given me the courage to try a new project
  16. Chad, that's a nice job on the icicles. The one you brass brushed may not have been hot enough when you started brushing. You should be able to get a nice bright brass color. Make sure you don't have a brass coated steel brush.
  17. I would go with the simple gun and not worry about being able to make adjustments at the gun. A lot less to go wrong and at a better price.
  18. A few drops of hot sauce on the greens set them off nicely
  19. Happy thanksgiving to all. I have the turkey cooking, as well as rice dressing, and fresh green beans cooking in the shop and the wife is doing candied yams, fresh bread along with a couple other sides and a carrot cake.
  20. I always thought that a bargain was already priced slightly below cost and I didn’t need to haggle. But, I do like to haggle most of the time
  21. It’s good for more than knives, you’ll never be disappointed for getting it
