Do a search for italian style anvil on the web.

In Die Kunstschlosserei from 1908 it is said that the steel jaws have to be tempered before use.(Page 98) becase they vere delivered glasshard.

As far as I understand JET imports from Asia and the edges of that anvil looks crushed not chipped...

If I ever need a new anvil it would be a Refflinghaus #58. A lot like Kohlswas C51 serie.

Söderfors it is. I have the same shield stamped plus "soderfors" on my little anvil.

I always tell that the square hole is late 17c or later so it would be nice to say that the anvil I use at markets and rennfairs could be period. Not that i belive it is, but anyway... :)
