  5. The epoxy stuck to the wood side. My next try was using 100 grit in circles, wash with acetone then alcohol and coat both sides with contact cement. I let it dry then stuck the pieces together. That appears to be working. When I finish the knife will carry it for a couple months and see how it holds up for me. This knife will never be sold- this one is my learning curve :) Thanks for the ideas- Dave
  6. This is one of my very top three all-time fav axes! You do nice work :) Dave
  7. I am working on my first folder, a friction folder. I want to use thin copper under the zebrawood scales to add a little support. I fit, sanded with 220, and used my normal slow-set epoxy to join the copper and wood. 48 hours later I tested the join and the copper fell right on off. Must I use thicker copper that will be held in place by the screws or is there something that will bond the copper and wood? Thanks, Dave

  15. You have a marketable produce there- if blacksmiths are willing to pay you know it is a hit. Fix the base, make more colors and get busy casting! Where can we see them for sale? Dave
  16. Grant sold some that were actually made to hold the end of a spike. You might check Blacksmith supply and blacksmith depot. One of the two is selling Grant's line. Dave
  17. Nuttin wrong with those, look pretty efficient to me. I bought a pair and then stumbled across a tutorial on making scrollers from tin snips. Those worked out great. You will get a ton of use from yours. They work out really well for bending. Dave
  18. Looks like you did a great job AND had your mind working hard about what you wanted and how you would get there. I love quality tools that are shown well and are functional. That setup will probably last at least a couple hundred years and spark a little joy every time anyone looks at and/or uses it. Primo for sure. Thanks for sharing this! Dave
