  3. hey there pro swimmer - ive never made a blade crap or otherwise so good on you! good advice from the guys above - keep at it and work your way onto more complicated blades, and like john N said - be prepared for a bit of frustration like in any learning curve i guess. Dont be put off by the hard work tho - if its what you want to make then you go for it and you will do it! Everyone starts somewhere and youve already made a start :)

    Curious!

i obsessively do kung fu which i really love and have been doing for years- its hard to fit it in with the kids and crow bar-ing workshop time in etc but i reckon its good for my state of mind and is definately worth the effort - also i do some tai chi to try to keep my head straight - tai chi and yoga have got to be a good idea for everyone coz they are so beneficial for your health and you dont have to be some majorly fit athelete to attempt them! and stretching can really help with the aches and pains:) So myloh - a bit of tai chi before you light the fire??:)
  10. hi there camphor - well done for tuning into IFI - look forward to seeing some pics of your work - love seeing what people are making!:)
  11. nice one adrian - what a sweetie! i love getting my kids in the workshop - its a treat seeing them get stuck in - they must always be encouraged!:)
  12. hey fix - i like the snake - def good use of resources! You were wasted on the lawnmower blades! will wait with interest to see the next one...
  13. hey adrian it looks amazing! great sized space. i love the hammer/tongs trolleys ive seen some of you guys have got - might try and sort something like that myself:). might i have met you at peat oberons courses too?
  14. welcome red hot - have fun reading all these posts..ps - i think yr name is cool!:)
  15. that is very interesting - i have used copper as well (as a matter of smaller significance!) to keep slugs off my plants - copper foil in strips - but im sure copper filings or anything coppery would work - and it is the only thing i have ever found that is 100 percent effective! its brilliant. Also a strip on your roof prevents moss growing where you might not want it. Copper - cool stuff. cheers pascalou:)
  16. colleen i got my kids off for summer too which is lovely.... but.... i understand your frustration!! it all just goes on hold a bit doesnt it?! a mothers lot in life eh!
  17. hi colleen what a lovely space youve got - bet you cant wait to get your hands dirty with some work in there.! will look forward to more pics as workshop gets established. i got mine moved in and like myloh says it can take a while to decide where you want everything - its getting there - nothing like yours to look at view etc. but it is mine tho! at long last!
  18. love the skull medieval - you got to charge for that stuff...
  19. nice one Joe luck! are you going to become a collector of fine anvils??
  20. My deepest sympathies too Nancy, tools are very personal and special things to their owners and im sure you will be able to find the right new home for them all. Im in the uk so too far! but it looks like a lovely anvil, i know the guys on here who live near you will help you out with your task, and make sure you get a fair price. Love from Uk
