Wow! Not bad! May want to use a power hammer instead in these days... ? Bests: Gergely

Thank you! With Wpearson's help I figured the two model types have to be the same (same-ish at least). So I went with the 355kg when I had to tell its weight to the courier company. By the end of this week that baby should arrive from England to Hungary. Bests: Gergely

Could use some trustable opinion on the topic This hasn't yet followed me home, but I MUST brag, ehem, share... I'm so happy!! Won on an auction, yippee! Thank you Wpearson and JoelOF for your help - couldn't do it without IFI! Bests: Gergely

Dear All, Can anyone help me with the precise weight info of the Norton 6DB flypress? Or tell me if it is the same modell you can find new under the name Norton 6A? (I've found the info of that: it's 355 kg.) Thank you very much! Bests: Gergely

Aus, amazing stuff in your picture: both your work and the automobiles. I recently upgraded my show table gear. In Dec and then in March my stuff got so much damage by the rainy weather that I had to stop and think. The new version is totally rain safe, storm safe. It can be dismantle into <3' pieces in less than 10 min and weighs under 40 lbs. Except the four bottom paws that are 15 lbs each. The table surface measures 160 cm x 80 cm. It still lacks a good painting, and I want to change the plastic to some waterproof canvas for better looks and good shade. For comparison I attach a picture of the old table. I liked it, but it weighs the same as the new and has half the surface. (And I can't hide my things from the customers under it.) Bests: Gergely -
Congratulations and best wishes to you all, Das! G

Identifying an old little anvil
Gergely replied to Jouni's topic in Anvils, Swage Blocks, and Mandrels
Hi Jouni, In Finland I'd consider this anvil as a rarity, and if I had the money for it I'd buy it immediately. My opinion only but this looks like it's not factory made, most likely in some workshop nearby a bloomery. It has cracks in its body and other things that make me think it's made of bloomery iron. The shape and the hole shows it can't be too old, maybe 1800-something. I like it BTW, looking quite pretty and unique. Is it in a kirpputori? (I bought half of my knife collection from those places.) Bests: Gergely -

Nice work Das! We are a bit fixated on stake anvils lately, aren't we? Bests: Gergely Oh, I had a craft fair yesterday. I had fun, very cheerful weather, nice people - almost no selling, oopsie. -

Gergely replied to billyO's topic in Knife Making
Okay, wow! I'm clearly unable to critique 'cause I like them too much. two questions though: What's the handle material of the boning knife? And Those cheese knives, are those pattern welded blades or laminated? I love that pattern! Thanks and bests to you! Gergely -
Well, I do. But only with one kind of work when I have to join bike spokes to thin forged flowerheads. It welds with its own material so no thickening at all.

Nice work! Congrats. This again brings VaughnT's words into my mind (paraphrased to my level of English): for your craft skills it's far better to do one project many times and see how to got advanced in it than begin new projects every time and suffer from failure and being slow. Bests to you: Gergely
