  1. Very nice!! That's on my list of things to make soon!!
  2. I love the design. I need to make a table myself to hold some hammers and misc tools. I really don't have a shop to say just a small space. This would fit nice into my area and help to keep things organized. Thanks for the post.
  3. Very nice!! I'm going to have to make pair myself I've been using vice grips.
  4. I love the way the lines flow! You should be proud of your work. Keep it up!
  5. Nice table. It has nice lines and curves just like a natural tree. You nailed it!!
  6. Nice table! Great legs as well. A labor of love!
  7. Nice style candle holder. A nice modern design!
  8. I've been practicing with just about any item I can find. I didn't take a picture of the spike before I started, but I'm sure you all know what they look like. This spike I found many years ago with my metal detector. I'm planning on using the area under the head for a bottle opener. It's simple just grind in a groove under the lip. I got that idea in Montana this winter at a bar I went to. I still have some work left to do with it. Thanks for looking!
  9. Thanks so much for the comment. I've only been black smithing sense this last fall. I've been doing a lot of reading and practicing when I can.
  10. I've been busy making new items on my forge. I decided to try my hand at making a dinner bell. It seems to have a good ring to it. I've tried heating and quenching the corners for getting a nice ring to it. I'm not sure if I can get it better. I used 3/8" round stock and 3/8" square stock for the holder. Thanks for looking!
  11. I like the design and the quality of work is outstanding.
  12. I like it no matter how you made it. Nice touch!
  13. Very nice! Love the handle!
  14. Wow, very beautiful work! I hope someday to be able to do work like that.
  15. Thanks! I need to read up on the correct wording when I list things. Basically what I've done is what I assume is just harden the steel. I don't plan on making a lot but I needed some time working on the forge. The knife will probably be a kitchen knife for slicing. The blade is about the thickness of a pocket knife. Thanks Steve for leading me in the right direction!
  16. Wow that's great! I wish I had my Great Grandfathers anvil. Although I do have some of my Great Grandfathers pictures one of which I use for my profile picture, and the thought of him working by my side. Enjoy your anvil!
  17. I found this broken file in my old tool box and decided to practice some of my new blacksmith skills. Although it's not really completed yet it has some scratches I have to polish out as well as securing the blade in the handle. I had a few pieces of antler and a chunk of brass so I fabricated a small handle from them. I guess its time to read up on finishing the blade. Any ideas or comments are always appreciated. Thanks!
