  1. thanks thats what I was having a problem with deciding which way to mount it...did you use 1 1/2 sq tube or something else? I found some 2 in I think I'm going to use just cause its free. also are you going to put sand in the upright tube? I don't know how this posted twice...must be the magic of Christmas!
  2. in your picture the leg at the bottom front comes straight out on both vices...in the book Mark sez you can arange the legs either way. have you tried this setup before so as to know if the way pictured works better than the other way...does that make sense(I'm collecting the parts to make the same stands)

  4. I think your own to something here...all that weight in the northern hemisphere no doubt has changed the angle of tilt of earth to the sun and has caused gobal warming

  6. I take stuff like that to the guild meeting and put in Iron-in-the-hat the guild makes some money, somebody gets something new, and I get red of something I not using.

  8. That would be nice ...seems like every handle I've bought has to shaved down to fit the head I'm going to use it on. of lately I've started taking the head with me when I go to the hardware store for a handle, just to get one close!

  12. How do you store your coal ...in a bin, a barrel, a hod, just out on the ground?do you keep the rain off of it
  13. 1) It's a "Thing-a-ma-jig" 2) looks like something to make shot with ...pour melted lead through it from a hight in a shot tower into a tub of water... make round shot .
  14. I have a couple of wooden ones that do that...I don't understand how they become magnetic...must be the vices I have!
  15. do you have adobe where you can reduce the size of your picture?...if so make your own thumb nail then click on the go advanced button below then under manage attachments should get you there.
  16. I've started stacking fire bricks on the edge og the forge table to keep the cross winds for affecting the draft of my side draft hood ...seems to help. I have them four high on the right and just two high on the left. I under a lean to off my portable 12x24 bldg . the bldg is to my left so I only seem to need two high
  17. candle cup forming comes to mind for the big end ..anything else for whats left over
  18. Right now I have 15 gal metal garbage can from tractor supply it holds water. I'm thinking about getting a 10 gal with a lid, and puting used peanut oil from the Christmas turkeys frying...seems like I always let the peanut oil go to waste. putting it in the shop seems like a better option.

  22. The worst part about Ebay is people are bidding up the price...I often wonder if the seller, or one of his buds, is not logged in bidding up the price in order to make more. You really get that feeling when you receive a second chance offer after bidding closes.
  23. don't forget the antique stores...if the've been there awhile you can get then cheap...watch out I once had a lady tell me a 1 inch punch was a railroad hammer...
