well i have been lurking on the web and community for anvils and other tools and it payed off, i just need to pick up this 200lb that looks like a peter wright cost (may want to sit down): $90 then i got another response to my ads with these: anvil looks to be a mousehole the vice looks like a peter wright (closed female end in the shape of a bell): i will be going to look at them this weekend or sometime near there, guy just wants the best offer (has received none) so he can get them out of his barn.... i also have a lead on a gas forge, farriers anvil, and bunch of tongs and other tools

im in my 2nd year, and i have a semi equipped shop, accumulate tools and materials over time and it make the budget take it alot nicer

i forgot to mention, this is my first attempt at a full tang blade

ugh, my FAAAAAVORITE part (sarcasim) grinding fileing and sanding, all done by hand (because i have no other choice) :P

fe wood, you could (if you are a good welder with the right rod) fix those edges, i have seen those bolt down holes before, im not sure what brand (firsher maybe) i saw them on, fix the edges and use it as a demo/ loner anvil

tohmas, when i said destroyed i really meant damaged, with missing peices and cracks... that kind of stuff

so, we all have seen an anvil with a cracked faceplate, broken horn or heel, gouges in the face or body, chisle marks beyond repair and bad weld fixes, so lets put them all in one place! here is one i saw, a guy tryed to sell this 169lb peter wright to me for $385
