Hi, We have a 12 year old boy who has done a day of blacksmithing at Genesee Country Village and would like to learn more and set up his own forge. He needs tools and advice on how to do this. We are located In Hemlock, NY. Thank you!

A place to list NYSDB statewide events. You must be an NYSDB member to FORGE at an event, but dues are cheap and all are welcome to join or attend as a guest.

This coming Saturday, January 18th is our monthly meeting. Hello everyone, I have found the NYSDBA group and if I can I hope to make the next meeting. But I was wondering if there is anyone around this area that likes to light the forge up on the weekends and forge for fun and wouldn't mind some one hanging out some time. I'm in town for a summer job and just looking to do a little forging or metal work. I am glad to swing a sledge hammer! Mackenzie

Anyone is welcome to come up for the all hands meet, we have a guest presenter coming in from Ontarion Canada, David Robertson. He will also be holding a special class on Monday and Tuesday. It will be held at The Arc and Flame Center on Manitou Road in Rochester NY. Question~ How does one join the New York State Designer Blacksmiths? Who is the point of contact? (Yes I am a former member, just putting that out there for those who might be interested.) Come one and all to the new Arc and Flame center in Rochester NY for the NYSDBA All Hands Meet, we have Blacksmith Artists David Robertson coming to demo as well as our scholarship winners. We usually have a good turnout for this meet, a fantastic iron in the hat and killer stewpot. It will be held May 19 and 20th at the new facility on Manitou rd in Gates NY.
