Friday at 02:16 PM4 days I have read through this thread about a million times now. I'm fascinated seeing how this was built. Thank you for putting this together.
Friday at 03:41 PM4 days Good Morning,It is very 'Humbling' when you realize how much metal bends and stretches, when Cold. If you put the hydraulics below the bed, your Hot Piece can fall onto a high pressure Hose. If you put the hydraulics above the bed, Your upper body/head is close to the High Pressure Hoses. You pick your battles! Do NOT go CHEAP on the HOSES, MORE SAFETY Factor is Better!! If your Bed mounts on/with 4 points of Contact, it is less liable to turn spagetti at the most unlikely time. If you think it won't happen, it will happen, Be Prepared!!Neil
Friday at 03:54 PM4 days But aren't the hoses covered with a fire resistant material ? Yeah I agree definitely don't go cheap on the equipment. There's always a weak link somewhere that's gonna get you when you don't expect it. I've read through this thread back-and-forth front to back several several times and I just think the construction is well done on this one. The fella that built this press definitely put a lot of thought and time into the engineering of it. I have never seen an H frame style press built inside of an eye beam, so that itself is pretty cool too.Is the gentleman that built this press still following this post ?I'm just putting that question here in hopes that the gentleman that started this is still possibly following any updates on this thread.
