here are a few photos I took today at work after I wire wheeled it .... I still couldn't totally make out the weight so I placed it on our truck scales which has a 20 lb. variance .. the serial number is 13702.... I'm waiting on my Anvils in America book to arrive so if anyone could help with a year of manufacture it would be great !! thanks, JT

that's awesome to know !! the rust was mostly just color and not deep at all and cleaned of easily.. I will try to weight it on a platform scale for a more actuate weight... I was very surprised at the weight displayed on our scale... I was thinking it would be about 410 lbs.

Thank you Marc !! no worries !! absolutely no grinding or welding shall be done on this anvil !!  just hot metal pounded onto its face !! :D JT

That's a big beautiful girl ready for hot iron and hammer dance, congradulations!

Thank you Lionel h !!... it is impressive in person !!  JT

Thats a beauty! According to AIA S/N would put it some between 1901 and 1912. I would estimate around 1910 if you just average the numbers.

Thank you Frozenforge !! njanvilman also thought it to be around that time frame ( 1909-1911 ) sounds pretty close !!
