SReynolds
Anyone mounting tools on the anvil outside the normal jig/hardie/fuller/swage? I mean if you have an anvil big enough? A grinder guillotine bench vise and an anvil.
Foundryman
I only really use my anvil to mount my vice, with sanding attachment as can be seen in the picture below. I mount the vice in the front of the two hardies and the polishing attachment sits comfortably on the horn. It's a 450lb anvil so it's good and stable, if a little grubbier than shown in the photo as it was taken two and a half years ago or so. natenaaron
You forgot to mention the other attachment. The one to the left of the vice, how to you get that other attachment to stay on the anvil?
Judson Yaggy
Hold on, there's an anvil in that pic?
ThomasPowers
That's the aforementioned "sanding attachment"---see the sand paper?
SReynolds
I get it. But where do I locate a sanding attachment?
Frosty
It may take time but you can make those kinds of attachments yourself. Does your polishing attachment ever give you trouble? Frosty The Lucky.

Does your polishing attachment ever give you trouble? Not often, it's very reliable and well made, it also doubles as a power hammer when I'm working billets of Damascus, a very handy bit of kit to have around the shop! odblacksmith
that looks like the 100lb unit, good for delicate work...
Prevenge
I think mine is a 135 pound unit. A little less portable....plus it requires quite a bit of ethanol to get it going....but it can also swing a hammer.
JHCC
I can't think of a single joke that isn't utterly inappropriate, so I'm just going to leave this one alone.
ThomasPowers
Unfortunately such units at my place consider *me* to be the prime motivator and expect me to handle sanding, polishing, hammering, etc...for *them*.
