NickOHH
I have been messing around with some roses, and have a commission for 5 of them. Im gettin the hang of all the bending and texturing but am wondering for way to clean up the inside a bit wire brushing only gets the outside and top of the leaves clean but you can still see some scale/ oxidation in between the petals. any tips ideas to try would be great appreciated. Daswulf
I've been forming my petals with OA torch. So no real scale. I suppose a soaking could loosen the scale, media blasting with something less aggressive. How about gun cleaning brushes in a drill? They make some small diameter ones that might get in there. Pancho07
I'd been wondering about that as well and was going to ask today until I saw this.

ausfire
I give my roses a quick hit with the bead blaster and it cleans up the inside petals very well. I think you can get el cheapo small blasters that attach to your compressor and draw fine sand from a bucket. Good for small jobs like this if you can't justify getting a cabinet model. NickOHH
Thanks for the replies, I may look into a abrasive blaster I think that could come in handy I'll try the vinegar in the mean time.

Flankem
They do. about 50 bucks. I used one at work once, for what it is it worked great, took the paint off the floor registers.
turbo7
Try mucking around with your fire Nick, air flow, position of work piece can help keep scale to a minimum. Just a thought.
