Hi all

after reading this site for a while I have decided to get off my bum and build a forge

using what I have learnt here and on other sites I have modelled my forge on a centaur forge 

so far I am three hours into my forge build 

go easy please 

WOW, 3 hours,  That's a lot done. Im envious, you have a break that will do 1/4 inch..Looks great. Firepot looks a little deep from here but hey you fab another in 5 minutes :-)

 

Break is 170 ton will do 10mm 

will do 25mm hitch some heat 

profile cutter helps 

Looks very nice and heavy duty - great job, throw some coal in there and fire it up!!!!

Yowzers dude that looks ready to go . Shame to get it all dirty with that coal and fire stuff. Make a fire and start smacking some steel. Nice work.

Nice forge, it's good to see someone with equipment and skills to use it. Outside the fire pot itself the steel doesn't need to be that heavy, on the other hand it doesn't hurt.

If you find its to deap install a bullet grate and call it a day.

Mileage may very, lol. Try it. If it burns fuel to fast its because you have to use too much air to raise the sweet spot to table hight. Is thats the case, take a pipe cap that fits over your tuyeer hole and drill a hole in the center.

I usualy recomend a 2" cap and a 3/4 " hole but with that monster you may need 3, 1/2" holes clusterd in the center

Advantage is the clinker runs down the sides insted of into the air stream

That's one flash forge, mate! Looking forward to pics of it fired up. Nice project for our winter.
