They're usually used for sheet metal work though can be used for other things.You and that sledge make me feel old too. Frosty The Lucky. Ethan the blacksmith Posted May 1, 2015 Author Share Posted May 1, 2015 sorry for every one who wanted to see the flatter made from a ball hitch I have a new plan!, but I'll still be completing the ball fuller/mushroom stake from the hitch. I just happen to stumble on these beautiful parts screaming"repurpose me!". I plan on drifting the hole on the top part and welding on the plate. please give suggestions on welding the plate to the striking part... is a full penetration weld worth it? I have yet to try them out, but I am extremely pleased!!!!!!!credit to my father for the great welds.
