very nice video, look forward to many many more to come ;)

Really looks like you have a nice set up and you know what you are doing very well

Very cool video! Much talent you have there.

Great video, makes me want to make an axe.  Also loved the background music, who is that?

The song is - The End of the Ocean - We Always Think There Is Going To Be More Time...

Thanks Autine, I may have to purchase that cd.

Welcome aboard John, that is one terrific intro! You don't usually see such high production standard in Blacksmithing videos, your's is very high quality.

Thank you.

Frosty The Lucky.

John; thank you!

Well! It doesn’t get much better than this.

I got up this morning; fixed coffee and found this post on I Forge Iron.

I set back, drank my coffee and watched John forge an axe.

Yup! It doesn’t get much better than that! :)

Thanks for sharing John.  I ordered a Baltic Goosewing one year ago today from you guys.  Jacob sent me a email saying it was ready this weekend.  I am sorry that it was not forged by you.  Your birth of a tool video got me interested in blacksmithing and while I am still an unskilled rookie I have begun to make tools, some turn out pretty good.

Best regards,

Matt

Matt, you can always have an axe made bu me form AUTINE tools. But I suppose you won't be needing one since you'll make them yourself :D

Have a nice day!

John

John,

I've enjoyed all of the Birth of a Tool videos on Youtube.  The blacksmithing, the filming, and the music are all captivating.  They are very inspiring and peaceful.  I'm glad you're here and thank you for sharing your work.

I would also love to see more videos, this is the only one of John's listed on youtube. Where are the others? Posted by someone else?

Eddie,  search you tube for John Neeman birth of a tool.  John and some friends started a company a year or so ago with John Neeman Tools as the name.  John has since separated and started Autine.

Oh oh,

without a mechanical hammer it would be a lot of work for me to forge such an axe. :D

Peter

Very informative & high quality video, especially for someone relatively new wanting information from beginning to end for making a fine edged tool!  Thank you for posting it and welcome to IFI!
