postleg
I,m still stuck on the fish thing. I sold the bluecat fish (which I recently posted) to a guy who then asked if I could do some blue gill. So a week later this is what I came up with 4 blue gill. He wants to mount them on the wall in his office swimming away from the catfish. He is interested in doing the wall in his office like an aquarium with different fish sculpures. Sounds like I'll be making fish for a while, and that's a good thing. ThomasPowers
Make sure you get a nice name plate on that wall as part of the deal---Perhaps a tasteful engraved brass plaque!

Roastbeef
I love your fish man !! how do you get the bluing effect? Phil
postleg
The bluing is done with a propane torch. Just watch the steel change colors as it heats then pull back at the first sign of blue and see how far it spreads. If you get it to hot it will turn a silverblue. Then just a clear coat good for indoors don't think it would last outdoors.
David Gaddis
Well those are a nice collection. Many of us would like to know what thickness of material you made the body from , as well as the fins. What ever you used, you did it with a nice appeal. Carry on
postleg
I think it was 16ga steel. The fins were hammered to make them thinner on the outside edge. I did send Steve Sells the info for a blue print but I don't know if he ever got around to coding and posting it. I ve never saw it if he did.
