CurlyGeorge
Just finished putting up the last of my new fence to close out the idiot next door. Got tired of his harassment. Had to extend to 8 ft tall, between the houses, to keep him from staring in our windows. I put up 115 ft of new fence. Now, all that's left are the cannon ports in the tall section. Well.....Maybe not.
KST1-Derek Fultz
Looks good Curly! Good fence = better neighbor. Growing up way out in the boonies, I never learned how to deal with neighbors. Now I'm in a small rural subdivision. Luckily the neighbors here are very tolerant and easy going. I am trying to tactfully address a septic run off issue though. Touchy stuff. -Derek
KST1-Derek Fultz
Curly, a thought just occurred to me. A cannon port and a mock cannon pointing through right at your neighbors window (maybe with one of those little "bang" flags) might really get your point across. You'd be the talk of the town. -D
Steve Sells
CurleyGeorge, I can make you a cannon even the one with a flag. < shameless plug and a bid all in one>
CurlyGeorge
LOL. Thanks for the idea Derek. And Steve, That would be cool. But the fence tapped my wallet pretty good. Between the fence and all the funny looking smoke over there, He probably can't see much anymore, anyway. :D

CurlyGeorge
Hey Jimmy. I live in a small town and can have the 8 ft section of fence. The only part that is 8 ft is just between the houses. The rest of the 115 ft is only 6 ft. Most of the folks in town are familiar with this guy, and they all thought that the fence was a good idea. The mayor is also a small contractor. I had him put new flashing around my chimney on the house. In order to get up there, he used his telescoping cherry picker. However it does not swivel. So in lining up with my chimney, he backed up and got the rear wheels on the neighbors yard. The ding bat called the cops on the mayor. He's the ONLY one of my neighbors that is a jerk. None of the others even dislike the occasional coal smoke. I try to not make noise in the forge past about 7pm. They all seem to like the idea of having a blacksmith in the neighborhood. :)
Drewed
How soon before the fire step goes up?
ThomasPowers
Ticking off the *mayor* in a small town? Why you probably have carte blanche to run electrified barb wire on that fence without any trouble from the town council!
CurlyGeorge
LOL. That kinda shows what caliber of neighbor that I'm dealing with, Thomas. :D
Steve Sells
If you change your mind about the cannon, or if you decide to go with the energized wire, I am also an electrician. I can get it done after Trying-it's hammer in while I am in the area. Boy, wont he like seeing a big grouchy guy like ME there lol
jimmy seale
glad you got the "law" on your side. old saying goes...it takes all types..i just wish they would quit proving it. but seriously best of luck with them but if all fails...have a ace in the hole
Swamptroll
Put some pinwheels on top of it just to dazzle him or irritate him which ever it does
Adam2519
It's a pity you didn't go with lapped and capped. Then you could have forged up some nice wicked looking spikes to line the top of the fence, just to let him know how you feel. :D
Dogsoldat
having issues in our small city, but it's the out of town bylaw @#$. Noneof the neighbours on my street care about my stuff out front. Sucks to be the only one with kids and not retired on my street. Plus most are japanese, so imaculate yards. grrr.... palisade and cannon ports are definately seconded.
