BIGGUNDOCTOR
What? Don't you know that anvils are used for more than just horseshoes? That is just a large cobbler's anvil :P
MLMartin
HAHAHAHHAHAHAaaaaa well at least its just paint, Ive come across more anvils than I want to remember that had funny things welded to the top, like hammer, tongs, signs, chain, ext ext
zampilot
Looks to me like someone got a 300 lb (or so) anvil for about $150.
MattBower
Doesn't look like anything a wire wheel wouldn't fix.
edge9001
paint jobs like that, for me, fall into the same category as nail polish and clothes on dogs. in other words its all unnecessary(spelling??) window treatment. and embarrasign for the one wearing it. basher
well look at it this way. at least those anvils have probably lasted better outside than they would have without the paint job.
leighwill
Yea it looks in really good nick and I don't mind the black body I could even live with the red horn, it would get burnt off eventually anyway, but butterflies is a step to far. ThomasPowers
Well they didn't *damage* it. I'd had liked to see the face before bidding on that one myself. Could be a mass of chisel cuts on it below the lasts. Far better to have it dressed up to play dollies with than to have it used as an air arc gouging fixture which I have seen many times in anvils from industrial locations. urnesBeast
For the right price, I will take a well preserved, painted anvil. For a better price, I will leave the butterflies on.
