January 26, 201016 yr Thats a nice clean stamp! Beautiful hawk, what type of figured wood for the handle?
January 27, 201016 yr KYBOY, I didn't think it was possible to get a touchmark that crisp and sharp with a stamp. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get it? And how much did it cost?
January 27, 201016 yr Send a PM to me to please I would like the info. Thanks! I don't care how much it cost, each touch mark is going to be different cost. I would like to know where you got it from.

January 28, 201016 yr Me three, please if you can PM or a post for everyone would be real nice THANKS :)
January 28, 201016 yr Nice touchmark KY. Maybe just post the maker here? We can get what we might want priced directly and after seeing the quality I don't think a little publicity would be out of line. Frosty the Lucky.
January 29, 201016 yr I don't need too much invitation. While I did not make the stamp for KYBoy, I do make stamps (touchmarks) for blacksmiths. Usually in S-5. The biggest difference in mine is I include a handle as shown in the ones I did for jesse:
January 29, 201016 yr Grant those are very nice. Not that it matters but do you hand carve those or mill them? Do you charge a flat rate or by the time required to build?
January 29, 201016 yr I quote based on my mood at the moment. Usually competitive. I mill in graphite and EDM the stamps in already-hardened material.
January 29, 201016 yr Author Sorry guys it took so long I got this touch mark at CMT (columbia marking tools). Stampman on here is who I contacted first then he put me in touch with other company employees.. Its a fine stamp. 5" long and plenty of mass..Wont get hot when you stamp hot as long as you dont hold it on the metal more than a few seconds. It marks cold very well too..Im sure there are plenty of makers out there who could do a good job as well but CMT did a fantastic job on this one :D
March 22, 201016 yr I'm trying to design my own touchmark and I'd love to see some examples of what other people have done... I know a lot of people do names or initials, but there's a whole lot of creativity here...
March 22, 201016 yr Names and initials are searchable. Easily described patterns without letters are very common, making them less searchable. There is a directory on Anvilfire.com that may help. Phil
