  5. Philip, If they are so widely sold, What say you buy a cheap one and do a little reverse engineering. carefully destruct the knife and figure it out.
  6. I just had to get a picture of this speed limit sign. I was driving through a small "private" neighborhood this evening and was amazed at the lunacy of the inhabitants. The sad part is my taxpayer dollars helped pay for this thing. I don't think there is a marking for this on my speedometer. Oh, and sorry for the blur. I was laughing too hard to hold real still.:o

  10. If it's such a tale, then why do those cool looking jap kitchen knives (santuko) have those little dents in them? I was told so food won't stick when slicing. no sarcasm, just curiosity
  11. M I can vouch for rex price's burners. I built a freon tank forge using an empty "balloon time" tank from Wally world. lining is 2 inches of Kaowool covered with 2 coats of satanite and one of ITC 100. The bottom is I inch firebrick I haven't tried forge welding yet, but am told it is entirely possible. most of my forging is done between 3 and 5 psi. a 20 Lb tank lasts 16 to 20 hours.

  17. John, as you seem to have a much larger supply than I, if you feel the need to lighten your pile, you can always send some my way:D Thanks for your generosity with Phil. That is a true act of kindness and generosity

  19. Thanks Sstreckfuss. I didn't see that second half before. Do you have any idea what the track plate I am talking about is called? the plate si about 10 inches square with two raised sides leaving a spot for the rail to rest in. There are also eight holes in the plate, 4 on each side. half of the holes are spike sized, the other four are smaller.
  20. trying to find info on what the big square plates that hold RR tracks on the ties. A nephew (bless his heart) picked a few up for me a while back and I was curious as to what they are made of. I searched and searched the IFI forums with no luck
