  1. I figured as much but couldn't resist pulling your leg. . There's at least one company out there selling morris tapers. I bet they don't sell much...
  2. Some forged hands coming out of the wall to hold them would be cool.
  3. Very nice haul, overall. I really like etching mochine....
  4. Actualy, I had one a friend gave me and I kept it in the truck with a cheapo generator for fixes so I shouldn't laugh too hard.
  5. I appoligize. It struck my funnybone.
  6. Not referring to anything but that made me laugh..
  7. He must be a tough hombre, he's still at it at 70. Maybe he wore a respirator while he worked it. They provided them a plenty. I don't know as I was at home resting for the next shift. All I know is the smell it left behind.
  8. Right after Wicon posted his. It's not any big thing, maybe I should not have mentioned it. If you look at other videos of the same song, it's pretty political. But not the one I posted. I'll post it again but the context may be lost. Thanks.
  9. Well I did walk away and also didn't buy anything. I can't afford to buy his junk to remove it from a potential buyer. Maybe I should have "accidentally" tipped it over and crushed it on the floor and left quietly. That's what I was thinking about, is left over contaminants. Can you decontaminate something like that? I can see just the galvy but chrome? I wonder what else he got up to with it. It was pretty frustrating talking to him.
  10. Burning hair is pretty good description George. I put up with it as others did mine. Nobody wanted to rock the boat and ruin a good thing. Heck, one guy used to rebuild small engines in there and everybody used the pressure washer to wash their cars at break. It was a high stress place and they could not keep help... Management understood and the place ran suprisingly smooth.
  11. It's good to see you post, Hondo. I will pm you. I'm only an hour from you, you know. I can help out some, I imagine.
  12. I had a job in a control room in a high stress place and we were allowed to bring projects to work, as long as we did what was required, jobwise. I polished and sanded a lot of projects there. The fellow I followed (rotating shifts) used to bring in buffalow and cow horns to make powder horns. He ground on them with a dremel and the smell/stench lingered my whole shift. Those look nice!
  13. I was at a sale last weekend that had blacksmithing things and the seller had a gas forge to sell. As I looked around his shop, I noticed buckets and racks with all kinds of galvanized and chrome bars, rod, pipe, etc amongst the other material. I round about asked him what he made and if he used this stuff. Yes, of course he did and I tried to impart what I knew about the dangers involved in using it, even pointed him here, but he wasn't interested as he said he wheeled his forge out into the driveway and "knew all about that stuff". Long story short, he asked me to leave. I have been wondering if that forge would be safe to use if someone bought it not knowing what it has been used for. Would it continue to emit particulates and bad fumes, etc.... Or would it just all be vaporized or just "go away" after use?
  14. It may be obvious, but if you do find a hobbyist to cast that for you, I would do my best to vett them and see examples of their previous work, preferably in person, or it may be ruined. You don't want to hear, "Oops, sorry about that". I get nervous working on irreplacable things, including my own.
  15. Looks like it's got a little road rash there on the claw. Good canidate for Donkey Head?
  16. Have you ever found yourself wearing two pairs of glasses, safety or othewise because you couldn't remember where you laid the last pair after pushing them back on your head and searching for a half hour and just grabbing some new ones? Doubt I'll be going, again.... maybe some day!
  17. Thank you, Rojo. Making up names and tall tales is half the fun.
  18. By the by, what happened to my Joe Walsh link? Kind of throws my whole post out of kilter.
  19. That turned out well. I have noticed there is a thin bone layed back in the nose of skulls that kind of make them look more like nostrils. Maybe to finicky for forging though. Just a thought. Makes them look meaner....
  20. Good stuff. There's some I have heard but many new one's. Could the game possibly be Assassins Greed, Black Flag? Warms an ole sailors heart. Almost makes me want to go about talking like a pirate again. The comment's were also fun to read....
