  1. That’s pretty cool John! I’ve never heard of that before, correction on my previous statement, the post card stamps are $.40 cents not $.20 cents, Scott, I saw a remake of those on the usps site, but they are really expensive,
  2. So I went to the post office to mail some packages today and buy some stamps for my stationary that’s supposed to be here sometime today I asked the lady at the post office if the wax stamp would ad enough weight that I would need an additional stamp, she told me that a single stamp covers a one ounce letter and that a wax stamp more then likely would not get anywhere close to going over weight, but for every ounce over one ounce a $.20cents would be required the $.20 cent stamp is the one you use for postcards normally Then she said that sometimes the wax stamps won’t go through the sorting machines and they gotta sort em by hand, in that case it would be a $.20 cent charge so she advised me to get both a sheet of the regular stamps as well as a sheet of the $.20 cent stamps so I got both just to be safe, that way I don’t have to worry about the postal service returning letters I tried to send, On the USPS website I saw even cheaper stamps for just a few cents a piece, Its my understanding they are for adding additional post freight charges to stamps that predate the forever stamps so there y’all go! everything boring that y’all never needed to know about stamps on letters! Lol
  3. That’s terrible news Das, I really hate to hear that, it seems like it was just yesterday you showed us your cute little candy eaters in their wagon on Halloween havin a good time It’s very painful when work gets in the way of spending time with your little ones, I let my shop consume me an caused friction here until I had the epiphany that the customers don’t care and it won’t kill ‘em for me to shut down on weekends an holidays, so I could spend more family time goin an doin things I wish I had some sagely advice that could help you feel better right now, All I can think of is do what you can in your power to lesson the impact on the girls make sure your spending what time you can spare with them so you can build a strong relationship Your a smart an strong guy! Your gonna make it through this! Also make sure you get another wagon for all those awesome adventures you an the girls will be taking! If there’s anything i could do to help lemme know, im sending you a trainload good vibes!
  4. That’s sad to hear, I’ll ring my anvil an toast a cold one to him after work today
  5. Thomas i forgot about them! isnt that the friend you help find a fly press?
  6. Boy howdy that’s one fancy lookin writing instrument John! seven years is a long time to be away from home I imagine there’s quite a few letters in those boxes!
  7. While talking about children, I walk around looking down. There's where the treasures lie... ~ Nodebt
  8. I like how the lean too folds down can keeps the weather off your tools! Very nice!
  9. Your welcome, it looks to be in pretty nice shape! I’m jealous!
  10. I just has another thought, what if you did the trees body ,branches and roots outta the cable an used copper wire to do the foliage?
  11. Either way that puts it as made in 1918 pg361 AinA
  12. Lol it’s okay Scott, he can be a paleontologist if he wants to, or an artist or a robot builder or whatever else he wants to be! I don’t care as long as he’s happy healthy and makes enough money to take care of me an ash when we get old lol
  13. Lol yeah that’s a good point Thomas, there’s probably more money in learning how to design an build animatronic Dino’s then digging up real ones!
  14. Sounds like a cool project! i couldn’t think of a way to do the foliage so I did a online search for metal bonsai tree, and I seen several where the makers curled hundreds of wires to make the leaves an it looked pretty cool, I don’t know how many strands your cable is but maybe you could just forge weld the center section of the cable and do your roots on bottom an curl the wires on top?
  15. Jerry, it was worth it, I had to take breaks on a bench every so often but we all had a good time, Scott, he just might be a paleontologist but only if he gets to ride the train to the dig site! Lol
  16. Looks good to me! I have one of my post vises that close to my forge, I don’t think you’ll run into trouble
  17. Charles, I’ll try an remember your tail trick if I’m ever dealing with it again, i got some pictures from the zoo trip today, it’s a hard toss up over what max likes better the train or the animatronic Dino’s! Lol max had to have a stuffed trex an then marched over to the big mama trex an used it to roar back at her! Lol sorry the sun glare made it hard to get some of the pictures clear,
  18. Hopefully you find them someday! That would be cool to go back an read through your family’s letters! Wait till I get my awesome new stationary and I’ll mail you some chicken scratch! Lol I used to have to clean out storage units of people that didn’t pay their rent, I always felt bad dumping truckloads of family documents, photo albums ect… I love watching tracking numbers an trying to understand why something bounces back an fourth across the whole country when it was already in a distribution center close by, I’ve never actually used one ive just seen them in pictures and for sale, I guess the plastic pens are more my speed anyways lol
  19. it’s been a week now, im getting along better, it’s sore an been swelling a little but over all okay The Doc stitched it best he could be I’ll probably still get a pretty good scar outta it, I kinda way way over did it today, we drove up to the big city early this morning to take max to the Tulsa zoo, they are hosting a big animatronic Dinosaur exhibit an we’ve been waiting to go for a long time, so I didn’t wannna disappoint him, he loves dinosaurs we knocked those out early over all though we spent 5 hours at the zoo seeing everything an walkin around an finished up by riding the train, then a long drive back home, so I’m pretty wore out an my feet an leg is screaming at me! Lol Jerry, when you come to visit I’m not lettin you play with any fire! Lol
  20. Thanks Randy!!! I’ve wondered what it was used for a long time! Thanks arkie! Lol Scott, I don’t plan on ever building a clapboard cabin but just in case I do I’ll keep it intact! Lol
  21. That was before they had forever stamps! They move a lot fast now!
  22. It looks pretty straight forward to make one! If I get to where I like it I might make some more!
