  1. Hey Will, it is about 7 inches long overall. The steel is coil spring and the handle is Santos mahogany. Made it on request for a buddy.
  2. Hey folks, just wanted to share a knife I recently made. Happy forging!
  3. I am super excited for the New England Blacksmiths Fall meet this coming weekend! I'll see you there NoTownKid.
  4. Ill be traveling for work this week in South Carolina. Just thought I would see if anyone near Union or Spartanburg would be willing to teach me or host me for an open forge session Tuesday night. Sorry for the late notice, thought it was worth asking.
  5. not at all. all my projects until this have been taught to me or I copied them. Flattered to have this borrowed
  6. I love these "show me" megathreads so I figured I would start another one and see what everyone else might add. Here's the drawer pulls I just made for my workbench. I think I made seven of there before I got it sort of figured out for dimensions and proportions.
  7. At my work some people have these plastic coat hooks that hang on the cube wall and look all dinky. My cube mate needed a coat hook so I measured the wall thickness and made this to hang over the wall. Pretty happy with how it came out. The leaf decoration will be presented towards the hall where everyone can get jealous.
  8. My first two bottle openers. If you look closely, one was going to be a pineapple twist but I stopped at just twisting one direction so it has a funky extra twist look. The other is all about more practice.
  9. I remembered this post while I was at the scrap yard and they had buckets full of old jackhammer bits. They charged me $1/lb. Glad to get them, but now I am worried my scrap yard is charging too much.
  10. Poor fingers... Speaking of burnt fingers, my friend wants to give me an aloe plant so I can continue the first aid. Seems like a good thing to have in the house when forging.
  11. I'll probably drill these since I waxed them already. I do want to try punching on the next one, as I haven't yet. Which brings up deciding on a hole diameter when I don't have screw's for them picked out.
  12. These are my first two attempts at door handles. One was really just an excuse to try a pineapple twist. It has become clear to me I need lots of practice with hammer control, doing shoulders and making things match up. Very fun though.

    My latest pickup

Ah ok, I haven't used any fullers yet. I'll have to do some research on when to use them.
  14. Hey folks, wanted to share my forge cart I built. I have to roll it out into the driveway every time I forge so I did a wheelbarrow type cart with a brakedrum forge. The legs are actually removeable so I could break it down for travel as well if I wanted to.

Matto here is a pick of the hardy tools and a couple hammer heads that I got as well.

I will have to do that. I got a whole bunch of other stuff too. Hardy tools, several hammers (in steel, lead, and leather i think).

Thanks for the welcome Frosty. I paid $50 for it. There is an older widow whose husband had a lot of stuff for just about every hands on hobby there is. I also got a Peter Wright 193# out of that garage for $100, which is in great condition. Every time I miss my work piece the rebound almost hits me in the face.

    My latest pickup

Hey folks! Just joined the site and wanted to share my recent pickup. It says "The Columbian. Vise & MFG Co. Cleveland, USA" I was pretty pumped with how heavy it was, smooth action, just need to loosen the swivel.
