  1. Im in Beaverton and I think I know where a piece of rail is.. Might be able to find you a few other things as well. Also got some peices of fork lift fork I could spare...
  2. If thats your first attempt im impressed looks alot better than my first try at it. I made an ugly spoon out 3/8 bar stock.

  6. Most of my skill is with wood and Ide have to say im a husky man myself. I love working with wood, but hope to get my metal working up to par with it. Mixing the two is the best of both worlds. And nothing but good comes from it. I too want to see a keyhole cut with a chainsaw.. Then teach me how to do it:D

  8. No need to heat treat it, especialy if your using mild steel..
  9. I just made a couple of the goose neck shaped ones that I just stick in my hardy hole and push down.. It works great and takes a minute to make. There also easy to shape to hold pieces more securely

  11. Was fun year. Couple days before Xmas my New nephew was born healthy. 3 hammers 6 pairs of tongs couple blacksmithing books and a $100 to BS Depot.. So I was pleased. We had 12 people over so was full house. Good times with family.

  15. Theres a steel yard out here that has a very limited scrap area.. What ended up working for me was posting on craigslist that I was looking for old car springs and ended up getting a reply. Now I get all sorts of cool stuff from the same guy. And now that the demand of scrap has dropped over 50% in the last month or so alot of people are holding the scrap they were going to bring in till the prices come back up. So you can get some good deals there. At least that has worked for me. Truck and car spring especialy are easy to get.
