  3. I generally watch videos whether u tube or otherwise with no sound. I can learn better without the catch phrases and chatter by just focusing on whats being done instead of whats being said
  4. Just curious as to why you refer to that as a machinist hammer ? I'm an OLD MACHINIST and have never seen a hammer like that in or around a machine shop.
  5. McMaster-Carr sells copper in small size sheets in a bunch of different thickneses 12 X 12 .and other sizes I use that for copper skillets / ladles and such
  6. Forged from 22 inches of 1/4 inch round mild steel -- plus 3inches for the little feet ----
  7. Farmall Thanks I got a bunch of stuff made like those pieces. I machined a lot of Buss bars for Dominion Virginia Power and had some drops left over. Could not see selling the copper for scrap when I could make things out of it

  9. Hammerdown All the recent copper items started out as 3/8 or 1/2 inch thick flat bar X 2 1/2 and 3 inches wide. Hand hammered out to about 3/16 or 1/8 thick
  10. GustavDebels949 Yes the center rivet is copper The piece is about 4 inches square and the rivet head is about 1 1/2 inch in diameter
