hi ya all! greath project!! i was thinking of building a greath bellows myself in the spring to. I understand why lots of you advise canvas instead of leather, indeed its cheaper en has less maitanece , but it may be worth to consider the fact that leather is much more fire resistend than oiled canvas.. this is especially importand if your shop is rather small (en forge and bellows are relatively close together), of course there are flame bloking spray's on the market, but i dont know if they would stick to oily canvas?? Am i beeing overly concerned here?

ok thnx guys , i did a bid on it , so i'm gonna see where it goes, i'm not paying 200€ for it, but if i can get at a lower price , that would be nice. For me its as a second anvil to use on jobs as farrier anvil but also for demo's and fairs..

hello, I'm looking around for a smaller anvil for demo's and such, found this one on a local auctioning site, looks interesting, but i don't really know the tape and brand, there's a picture of a partialy visible logo. Does annybody have anny imput about this, and what would you think it's worth? should i bid on it? here it is; oud aambeeld kind regards!!

Hello, I understand you want to train your physieke in order to improve your matrial arts, adding extra weith is not the wright way to go. but most competition wapons or training wapons are way lighter then the real deal, so make yourself something blunted with the real weight (you might add just a litle, not mutch ..) and trai with it,.. allot! keep repeating the same movements over and over, faster and faster... improvemt comes from investment in tiome and effort, not from using a bigger weigth, martial arts are about combat ability , so you need to build a strong lean body.. thats fast slender and tough, not just big and muscular.... thats only my opinion ofcourse.. i'm only a green beld in judo, but pretty good in shoy lay fut, and i'v had training with staff (chineese wax wood for competition, seasoned hazel for training) and with the chinese broad sword. Find yourself a teacher and put in the right emount of effort! and enjoy!!

if its a heavy piece (and aint high carbon steel) heat verry wel on the spot to upset, then localy cool down the rest and then drop heated part first on the anvil or an upsetting blok, strigthen it back avery 3 of 4 drops

in our school shop we have about every type there is, and i must say that above all I prefere a german patern duble horn, the itallian type is nice to, but i don't know if annybody still makes them new.. a few more brands; haberman, hoffi, clif carrol, short sugar, blue devil (the last three are farriers anvils)

we have some with a tool stand simular to this at the shop where my classes are, but none are so rigid as yours is, and also like the idea that you can pivot your tool stand. I'm gonna build my vise stand this weekend, do mind if i use your design for imput? ;-D

i'm well aware of the advantages of side draft or hoods, my question actually is; would it work to use 2 stove pipes next to eachother, instead of one big one (be it either for side draft or hood) cause i hove allot of the 7 inch stuff lying around.

hey guys, As you may know from previous post i'm in the process of building my new shop, I'm about to build my chimeny hood and chimeny. A side draf is not an option (structural issues) so its gonna be a pipe right up, with a sheet matal hood (i'm thinking aboud making it hight adjustable), but now I'm having doubs about the pipe's I'm using, theire about 6.7 in (18cm) in diameter, would this do.; i'm not sure.. s i was thinking of putting two of them next to eachother, would this work ? or would this just create a draft between the pipes and thus lower the total draft of the chimeny instead of largening it..? what are you guys opinions about this? thnx!
