I found a new thing that seems to be a common thing amoung blacksmithsmiths...my teacher is also an officer in PABA so he knows all the smiths in the area....well he has to visit some of these guys from time to time..I get to tag along.....what a riot! all of em great people and the common things are "here take that witchya" its like a big swap meet to go and visit someone. We visited a guy the other day and he has alot of thin 12 guage brass...rolls of it...here kid (my kid is 30 years old) he says, to me, take them shears and cut us some brass...he also had thin steel in lengths all kinds of weird things that can help a project for fastners or tabs ... then yesterday my one neighbor pulled in with a 3x6 sheet of 12 guage mild, a bunch of 3/4x2' steel round...and some 1/16th thick 1.5 diameter black pipe (3' sections) all kinds of goodies...so another common thing is that people start to find out what you are doing and they all give ya metal...trouble is finding out what kind it is....no matter bang away my friends FP

i have a centurian. I went with a new one because I got tired of playing with the used ones...I wanted to make my own marks and have freedom to pound where I wanted....I am so glad I did this....It looks very cool....rings unbelievably....I set mine up on a wooden stand and a piece of rubber underneath...then I put a magnet underneath and now it sounds great. The best part of it is there is a large work area...the horn is substantial also...its a great anvil...it was between that and a rathole...it was a little cheaper so thats what I went with....BUY AMerican when I can....the people out there are great also....The guy that teaches me said he would buy one of these he likes them ...if he was buying a new one....

Sorry but like you saw I was stumped also...the only other thing is you (or I) could have possibly used MITE but I think that technically would have been wrong also. So now what??

I think I was talking with Kayne and Son and they told me TFS and JHM are the same manufacturer just different names..... It was a draw between a JHM and the Nimba I just liked the profile of the nimba and the very large work area....It is a great piece of metal tho ...great rebound...you have to be careful if you leaning over and hitting something you can catch just right and the rebound is liable to wack you in the head if you arent paying attention ......
