January 11, 200917 yr I have not had chance to get down to my shop since christmas, but here is something I managed to finish and deliver just before...
January 11, 200917 yr those are nice...they come with a spit ...are the hooks forged welded on or cut and rolled up?
January 11, 200917 yr Author All the hooks are forge welded together then fixed to the main uprights by the two collars top and bottom. I copied the ones in 'Antique iron' survey of American and English forms by schiffer publishing.
January 11, 200917 yr Nice work. On the basket, did they use the baskets for anything or is it just deocrative. I got the meat roasting part ok, not sure of the basket though. Peter
January 11, 200917 yr I think that the baskets are for warming your wine or rum. Nice for a cold winters day.
January 12, 200917 yr Author Thanks for the kind words, I am pleased how the baskets went together - though I cheated slightly? when putting the ring in place by tack welding at two points to hold the ring for the fire welds.
