John Ditt
Does anyone have knowledge and history of the quilt for the 1988 ABANA conference, likely auctioned to raise funds? It has appeared in a thrift store in New England. On the quilt are the names of the makers: Made for ABANA by Kathy Woolridge Kitha Kierbow Lorraine Humble Pam Howard Jean Hale Cordelia Daniels Pam Caublesmith 1988
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
The conference was held in Birmingham, AL
ThomasPowers
I'd check with ABANA, have you contacted them?
TWISTEDWILLOW
I know it was 34 years ago but Maybe you could try an track down one of the quilt makers an see if they have any information or pictures of it?
Scott NC
Seems like a strange, sad place for something like that to wind up. Maybe I'll spend some search engine time on it.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I went to the ABANA web site and found nothing about it, other than the location of the conference..
George N. M.
I would contact ABANA to query them about the quilt, makers, sponsors, purchaser, etc.. And, I would try locating the makers via Spokeo, particularly if you could find their 1988 locations and approximate ages (the youngest would probably be in at least their mid-50s now). Also, someone might want to buy it and donate it to ABANA to be raffled a second time if and when they ever have a conference again. "By hammer and hand all arts do stand." swedefiddle
Good Morning, Please buy it, I will pay for it when you let me know. I will donate it back to ABANA, to do as they see fit. Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Great gesture Neil, if they still have it and the price is too high, let me know and I'll split the cost with ya. Randy
anvil
I was there. That was my last ABANA conference. I don't remember anything about a quilt. Getting it back to ABANA is a great idea. Count me in if any help is needed.
