Iron Fangs
Yeah, I was originally going for a Baker tent set up, the amount I bought would have probably worked for that
Iron Fangs
I'm going to try my first plan and just angle the roof a bit more, if it proves to not be stable then I've learned a lesson. And if it works then good!
JHCC
A Baker tent would probably work fine, especially if you make a rigid external frame from those saplings and suspend the tent inside it.
Iron Fangs
External? My plan was internal frame like a canopy tent, so more external like a camping tent?
JHCC
Right, like this: Since you’re not going to be moving it, you can add diagonal braces in the corners and lash everything together with twisted wire.
George N. M.
I have used a baker tent at demos for many years and had it work fine. My only suggestion is to set the coal forge under the edge of the fly and extend the chimney above the fly edge. You could get a tent chimney jack to put the chimney through the canvas. PM me if you have any specific questions. "By hammer and hand all arts do stand."
swedefiddle
Happy New Year, Put a tarp over the outside, call it a Fly. Save getting the drip through the Canvas when it rains. Maybe you don't live on the Wet Coast!! LOL Neil
Iron Fangs
Thanks to Daswulf (again. Thank you very much) I have been able to get my hands on a proper anvil stand and a forge that won't crumble when I build a fire in it, today I added a pitchel hole to the anvil stand with a little improv
