April 5, 20179 yr Hello, I'd like to get my my anvil reconditioned. Does anyone know where I can send mine to to get it welded? Would prefer within a 5 hour drive of upstate NY. I can do the finish work. I just need someone who has experience doing the welds. Thanks!
April 5, 20179 yr what is wrong with your anvil, pictures would help welding on an anvil is not something to do unless you have to to do it well will cost, to do it badly may cost you the anvil

April 5, 20179 yr Sway isn't a down check for anvils unless it's severe, you don't work lengthways on the face and straightening is better done over a sway. Even hot steel rebounds when you move it so you need to take it far enough past straight it will rebound to true. A wooden block and mallet work very well as they don't damage the finish. Please post pictures, what you think of as damage may just a matter of technique on your part. Frosty The Lucky.
