After over a year at staring at the nimba anvils on the website. I put in an order today for a 120lbs titan! No more used anvils for me!

Good Morning,

You will not be sorry!! You may want to put some Silicone under it, when you put it on your Anvil Block. Makes hearing last longer.

Congrats! I'm still on the fence myself, been drooling over one for years. I just don't get to forge enough to justify it. Perhaps on next year's tax return.

I'm planning on building a full Metal stand for it.

Having made the leap from "spiked to a stump" to "siliconed to metal" last year, I heartily agree.

I have a large diameter pipe with 6x12 wooden center beam laying on it. I think it's about time to get something more stable.

I'm jealous.  My anvil is so ductile it's not funny.  I love the look of those Nimba.  If you're not a ferrier, and are doing heavy work (like hammer making, or even blade making rather than straightening long pieces that requires the long heel), they look more sensible to me than the London pattern.

Well I have a 300lbs rail anvil I made that I use for long pieces that need straightening out. It's just to big for normal work.

The only problem I have with getting this nimba anvil is that I'm going to have to wait until around June to get it. They have to finish making it and ship it up to alaska.

One of these days I will have all three. By the time I do have all three I'll have a space for all three

You may want to consider how to make the anvil stand adjustable in height. This would allow for different projects that might come through your shop, or even allow strikers or other blacksmiths to use the anvil.

My though is build a metal stand out of square tubing and us a smaller diameter tubing to go inside it to make it taller. I'm not sure how to make it shorter yet.

Screw type house jacks.

Going to be at the March meeting? You've seen my stand, it's easy peasy to make though adjusting anvil height means changing your elevation.

Saturday the 25th. at Pat's place. Usual starting time around 9:00 and runs till enough of us wander off that Pat closes up. I don't even know if we have demo or we'll have to wing it.

Dang. I'm on call this weekend so I don't know if I can make it. I'll try.

I;ll keep my fingers crossed. We'll work it out.

Not making it to the meeting. But I will bring my new baby to the next one.

2 weeks left until it shows up

Bummer, we'll just have to get together another time. I really look forward to checking out your new lady.  The next meeting after is May 6th. again at Pat's. Unless something causes us to change the date.

I'll be at that one for sure. It's my birthday weekend so I'm excluded from being called in.

Cool. We should try to meet up before then though and get you going on multi port (ribbon) burners. They really are easy to make and a lot easier to tune than a plain T burner.

Anvil finally got here! But I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up from the shipping yard. I will post pics of her when I get her home.

I saw your AVATAR on this thread and opened it in excitement only to find . . . TEASE!
