primer_black
Hey guys, long time reader, made an account recently, and now I have something to post. Had been looking for a chunk of steel to hammer on, and found this Fisher on Craigslist. A wire wheel and some hot steel should shine it up nice! beaudry
Looks like a good one, how much did you pay for it? Nice to see someone post a picture of a newly acquired old anvil without immediately asking for the best way to grind on it , weld it , mill it or otherwise ''repair'' it . Dress up the edges with a file to slight radius and then use it just as it is .
primer_black
Was less then $3/lb, great deal in my eyes as it looks to have hardly ever been worked on.
mlinn77
I saw that today, Glad it went to a good home, I was thinking about getting it. Decent price, edges look, pits look bad but shouldn't affect the usage.

ausfire
That's a little ripper. Hasn't seen much hammer action - you'd better remedy that!
VaughnT
Looks rather minty, and you'll love the quiet thud that Fisher's are known for. I have had other anvils, but after working on my Fisher, I wouldn't want to use anything else. Great anvils and you'll find yours is a perfect size for all manner of general smithery! Post some photos after you get her cleaned up so we can see her in all her glory!
