It appears to be in good usable condition. You do not want sharp edges, as they can create cold shuts in the workpiece.

As to price. You won't lose any value considering the average today is around $3 a pound here in the US.  It is more than I pay, and less than others are paying, you're right in the middle. It is a well known maker, with a good reputation. As long as the top plate checks out , IE; not delaminating, not softened from a fire, etc..it will serve you well.
