Glenn
We have gotten several posts and or advertisements suggesting the IForgeIron membership go to another site where they request money or donations for a piece of equipment or project. If you wish to post links to kickstarter or other such (non IFI) sites where a request for money or donation is involved, we will gladly provide the poster, and any other IFI member involved, with 30 days of moderation at NO CHARGE, which means TOTALLY FREE. Get out of your easy chair and go to the forge, put in some hammer time, and EARN the money you need. No anvil, no problem, use what is available to you. No forge, the parts for a working forge can be found at any auto or truck service station, for free. No service station, dig a hole in the ground and make a ground or earth forge, for free. Pack a lunch and a cold drink and read IForgeIron cover to cover. There is blacksmithing and metalworking information on about everything you can think of, right here on IForgeIron.com and FOR FREE. Moderators and Admins Please watch the posts carefully to be sure this is enforced. Immediately hide any kickstarter type post and moderate the member without notice. Farmweld
And here was I thinking it had something to do with that dog leg lever on the side of a motorbike engine and being careful about the amount I ingest for a month.

ThomasPowers
It's Glenn's ball and he gets to make the moderation rules; but in this case I fully agree. My personal feelings are that---immoderate moderation is called for and is appropriate for this situation. Steve Sells
so many people forget moderaton only means one of us Staffers have to approve the post before it is shown to the general membership. many times that means only a few hours delay. It prevents some members from getting in way over their heads before they cool off. FREE 30 Days Moderation is a tax exempt gift !
Glenn
We do not want to keep anyone from learning. Moderation only means that a post needs to be approved by mods or admins, which usually takes only hours. All other functions of the site still work while on moderation. As I said, We do not want to keep anyone from learning.
ianinsa
Some say, getting mugged/duped is part of the school of life? To learn or not learn that is the question? :) However I think Glenn and co are doing a sterling job.
JeremyP
Kickstarter is such a great site for those needing to start up a brand new idea or innovation. But as always it gets gross when people see it as an avenue for free money. I actually seen a fella posting on facebook for a kickstarter to launch his smithy shop. Seemed pretty green at the trade promising a bunch of trinkets for those who donate. I would rather suffer with my homemade building with my homemade tools than beg for money.
