September 12, 201411 yr THAT is just plane NUT'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL :o thanks for the look makes you wonder how many nuts it took & how long
September 12, 201411 yr Author I'd be willing to wager that there's over a million nuts in that piece. I can't imagine how much work went in to all that spot welding, and then having to shape it all correctly to get the musculature just right. Definitely more than a week's work, even if you add in a few hours of overtime!
September 12, 201411 yr I'd take you up on that wager. A million 1/2" nuts would roughly weigh 35000 pounds. Even if that thing was solid steel rather than hollow form if would weigh less than that. If I were to make that I'd tack the nuts together as a flat sheet then form the "sheet" of metal as needed. Weaving the edges of the sheets together so they looked good would be the trick.
September 12, 201411 yr All I can say is WAY Cool piece. There are just TOO MANY straight lines for me to get started on and stay off moderated status. A lot of work for sure. Frosty The Lucky.
September 13, 201411 yr I'm very impressed. Reminds me of a member on another site I moderate named Mario Mallari. I'm always absolutely amazed at what he can create out of "found" parts. http://www.marmallari.com/marbricks-works.html
September 13, 201411 yr That is an amazing sculpture. Not sure I'd like it in the loungeroom but you have to admire the tenacity of the sculptor. So how was it done? If it was spot welded, he's a very neat welder! Maybe it's a fibreglass figure with the nuts attached? It would be interesting to know.
September 14, 201411 yr Author Finally found a credit on the site. Turns out that Hulk was made by these guys --> http://www.oldsteelart.com Judging by their site, they're no strangers to doing incredible things with bits of metal!
