Dale M.
Lets see some pictures of your coal storage anything more elegant than a plain bucket or tub... Want some ideas for easy access (front opening for shove/scoop) and maybe portable, capable of holding 50 to 100lbs of coal.... Dale
Glenn
50 pounds is usually a bag so I pour it into a couple of 5 gallon buckets. Easy to pick up and shake out what you need on the fire.
Michael
I just dumped 100 lbs of Elk Horn in a plastic garbage can and put the lid on. Turns out those plastic burlap bags, are sort of biodegradable in sunlight, which I discovered when I tried to move the last bag. I rarely use more than a one gallon bucket for a couple of hours of forging. Short handled little shovel moves from the bag to the bucket. Charcoal, that's different. That was 5 gallons of fuel, at least, with a lot more shoveling and scooping.
Rhettbarnhart
I use a cattle trough;you can get them in about whatever size you want
Dale M.
I was sort of thinking along the lines of something like this..... Just wish they were not so expensive... http://images.petfooddirect.com/107110011_lg.jpg Since my forge and coal supply are stored in garage when not in use was sort of trying to control the coal dust.... Timmy Charles
I keep mine in a 50lb bag right now. Shovel it to a 5gallon bucket when I need more.
DanBrassaw
I discovered the UV problem with my bags full of clinker that sat outside my shop door for a year, went to move them and, "whoops!"
Chuck in Ms
Mr. Dale, your request is very specific. Why not design and build it. Shouldn't cost too much, it can be exactly what you need and you can finish it to any level you want to look good in the garage. Top loading, front opening, wheels or whatever. Cool part, you can forge all the hardware in the process.

L Smith
5 gallon buckets and they can be stacked for more garage space. That's how I keep mine.
neg
I just finished this today. It holds about 700lbs of coal and its easy to get to, being right next to my forge. It's also got a door at the top of the back that flaps down so I can fill it up from the outside. :)
