mick maxen Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Here is another one of my trinket boxes. It has aTurkish Ribbon pattern running all the way around in the middle band of the pattern. The box is about 3" in diameter with a stainless steel base and a lid made from the same steel as the body. The photo above shows the Turkish ribbon band before it was welded between the other bars with the plain stripey pattern. Mick. Quote

beth Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 mick - your work actually terrifies me - its on another orbit - absolutely wonderful and inspiring - i cant imagine how you achieve something so precise. its beautiful and has complete authority. thanks for the photos ! Quote
Don A Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Awesome (a word I don't use often). However, you must find a nobler name for it than "trinket box". That's like calling a Faberge an "easter egg". Quote
beth Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 i thoroughly agree - i think mick has named the work far too modestly !! how about turkish ribbon casket?? hammer woven steel caddy? highly decorative and supernaturally precise lidded pattern welded steel chamber? you got me thinking now don :) Quote
Greenbeast Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Mick, you've done pattern welding before haven't you  Quote
