CHADDMAZE Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I just bought this the other day from a glass company selling out some old machinery. This is mounted on a 297 lb anvil, and runs off 100-120 psi air. looks like a jack hammer mounted onto an anvil in simplest terms. Also got for next to nothing all of the hardies for the anvil. close to 275 pieces. Has anyone ever seen anything like this and if so, does anyone know any history???? Thanks for the info Chadd Kreofsky Quote
Hayden H Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for all of it? Quote
K. Bryan Morgan Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I gotta admit. That looks LOUD! :D Quote
ironclad Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 that looks great, and all the hardies wow, just one question is there a hardie hole under the piston for the tooling? Quote
Marksnagel Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 That is a great collection of hardie tools! Nice haul. The hammer looks like it is leaning. Is this on purpose or wear from use? But it looks like a pretty neat setup. Quote

But it looks like a pretty neat setup. It pivots back and forth. The hammer will drop back and lean against some rods and it can be used as a normal anvil. Quote
CHADDMAZE Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for all of it? It cost 700.00 when it was all said and done. I didn't think it was that bad of a price really. Quote

pkrankow Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I would guess this hammer was used in making molds for pressed glass. Good deal. Phil Quote
CHADDMAZE Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 lol did they air hammer marbles? trying to figure out what a glass company did with this rig! neat buy They had a machine shop like i had never seen before! They are an old company and use to make and machine a lot of their own tools. they had a 95' Cincinnati metal lath with a 36" swing. never even saw something like that before. Quote
ThomasPowers Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I was thinking they might have used it to remove glass from their tooling. I'd think they would use a larger hammer for mold making. Quote
